Solution

Usually people do act on their own self-interest or on the best interests of their family, however there are always those who put the interest of others before theirs.

For example, who can honestly say they help poor people? How many visit their shelters and feed them or donate money on a good cause to help people who is on need. It is easy to give up the old cloth we no longer wear because is damage or we have new one, but to actually go and help people who lives on the street is a different matter.
