To begin with the answer, first let’s discuss about what is Taoism and Confucianism.

Both Taoism and Confucianism are the Chinese ancient way of living, both ways focuses on redefining the way of living in for betterment of society. These not any religious or Gob bounded techniques and only encourages people to adapt a way of living for the harmony of the society. This is only considered in individual behavioral manners against the way of living.

Taoism is a way of living where one focuses on his living and make world a better place, it is said that the betterment start with own self, Taoism believes in that. They believe that living in harmony and peace is a better way of leading life, then stepping a foot in competition of the society. It majorly focuses on oneself and nature.

Confucianism on other hand believes in togetherness, it believes in social harmony. According to this belief, helping other are the way of living in a society. It encourages human to become better person and also believes in mutual respect, understanding and by these beliefs making world a better place.

Both the two philosophy, though are the techniques of living a harmonious life and focuses on self improvement in the form of relationship with oneness and with others, but both of techniques work on different principles. And the three main differences between them are:

Belief – Where Confucianism believes in how human behaves, conduct himself with others to lead a better life for the improvement of society, Taoism believe in humans dealing in natural manner and to have a balanced life.

Woman status according to the techniques – Woman status in Confucianism is treated as inferior in society while in Taoism women are treated a respectful member of the society.

Values – Confucianism believes in working with the government, they believe that knowledge is very important in a society for the betterment, while Taoism refers to the law of nature and how nature and humans will respond with each other.
