A camera is set up at the starting line of a drag race 70 ft
A camera is set up at the starting line of a drag race 70 ft from a dragster at the starting line. Two seconds after the start of the race, the dragster has traveled 100 ft and the camera is turning at 0.4 rad/s while filming the dragster.
What is the speed of the dragster (ft/s) at this point (camera 1 is 70 ft away)?
2 part problem, will need both answers, but will rate lifesaver

Solution
a)
 speed = ds/dt = 100/2 = 50 ft/s
 b)
 distance between camera and dragster after 2 sec r = sqrt(70^2+100^2)=122.06 ft

 tan(theta) = 50t/70
 differentiate with respect to time

 sec^2(theta) d(theta)/dt = 50/70
 camera is turning at d/dt = 5/7 (cos^()) = 5/7 *(70/122.06)^2 = .235 rad/s
