use pictures or diagrams rather than the multiple across rule
2/3 x 1/6=
3/8 x 3/4=
5/6 x 3/3=
1/2 x 3/8=
3/4 x 1 1/2=
Use pictures or Diagrams rather than invert and multiply rule.
2/3/ 6/1=
3/8 / 4/3=
5/6 /3/3=
1/2 / 8/3=
3/4 / 2/3=
Solution
2/3 * 1/6
First draw 18 boxes. Choose 2 out of every 3 and that should give you 12.
Next place these 12 next to each other. Divide by 6, in other words count 6 boxes and group them, You get 2
So, required ration = 2/ inital number of boxes = 2/18 = 1/9
3/8*3/4 = 9/32
Take 32 boxes, pick 3 from every 8. Use these to pick 3 from every 4. Number you get to initial is required ratio.
Trick here is to find the LCM of denominator so that you can select integer number of boxes.
