1. Describe a corporation of your own design that sells a particular family of products in a given industry. What industry does it participate in? What products and families of products do they sell? At the different levels of the company, how do different employees play their part in implementing Tactical planning, Strategic planning, and operational planning? Solution
The coportation is about manufactruing automobile orginal equipment parts ( OEM). It comrpises of all major functional units of an automobile especially bearings, bolts, nuts, engine covers etc. The sector which the family of products fall will be in Automobile. The organisation structure is based on the functional unit such as R & D for innovative research on new product development and pilot testing which is more of technical people , then production ( which comorises floor shops, maintenance and services), operations managers ( supplychain management, procurement, order management etc), Human resource, Marketing.
Tactical planning is required interms of forecasting the demand, mainentenance requirement of machineries, taking make or buy decision etc. Colloborative effort of various team is included in organising things and utilise in optimisation way.
2: The goal of design is based on reducing the carbom emission impact. The company is producing Consumer packaged goods ( Home care ) products. The environment needs to sustinably planned inorder to reduce the negative impact interms of emission of carbon, other waste etc . Inorder to achieve this lean methodolgy should be adopted which can reduce the waste and eliminate non value added activities. Thorough As Is mapping is required on each and eevry process and determine the impact of its emission and then redesign it based on the optimisation method ( like forecasting the demand and optimise the production and its planning based on it), utilise efficient based machineries and allocate proper maintenenance to reduce the emission through production and processing, optimise the route for last mile delivery of goods inorder to save the fuel which inturns reduce the overall logistics cost.
