A piece of wood floats 750 submerged in water When placed in

A piece of wood floats 75.0% submerged in water. When placed in an unknown liquid it is 90.0% submerged. What is the density of the unknown liquid.

Solution

As Per Archamedis principle (Density of Object / Density of fluid) = (Weight / (Weight-apparent immersed weight))

= 1.47/( !.47-1.39) = 18.375 g/cm^3 . But gold Density at Room temperature is 19.3 g/cm^3. Hence The Crown is notpure gold
