For given problem
Axial load F= 860 lbf
Radial Load on right bearing R2 = 1102 lbf
Number of revolution N= 200 Million
Reliablity = 95%
For design a ball bearing first is to find out equivalent load on bearing:-
Equivalent load W= X.V.R2 + Y.F
Where V= A roration factor = 1, for all types of bearing when inner race is rotating.
X= Radial load factor = 0.56, from design data book
Y = Axial load factor = 1.2, from design data book
So equivalent load W= 0.56*1*1102 + 1.2*860 = 1649.12 lbf
Dynamic load rating for ball bearing C= W(L90/106)(1/k)
Where L90 is Life at 90 % reliabilty
k is bearing constant = 3 for ball bearing
L90= L95/0.54 = 200x106/0.54=370.37x106 rev
So C = 1649.12x(370.37x106/106)1/3 =11843.06 lbf
So we will select 6311 Ball bearing with Standard SAE 52100 material.
