Compound2 has a boiling pointof 89C which of the compo s a b
Solution
a) The peak A is of toluene (B.P is 110.6°c) and the peak B is of cyclohexane with B.P 80.7°c .
b) the area of the peak and percentage can be calculated if the measurements are given but here as the photo is digital its hight and width may change from one device to another unlike paper where the hight and width will be constant.. So the area of the peak(b) and percentage of each individual compunds (i.e sub question b and c respectively) cannot be calculated.
d) Actually the retention time is the time spends by a compound in the column after it is injected into the column. The compound with low Boiling point evaporate easily and therefore its retention time will be less as compared to those of high Boiling Point. Here in this case toluene has high retention time as compared tp cyclohexane.
