Solution

Before offering training to employees, the supervisor should see to it that the employees have been formally oreinted. If the employees are oriented properly, they will be familiar with the culture of an organization, their job and their role in the organization. This will help in lowering the anxiety of the employees. The employers and the supervisors should see that the employees are not only oriented when they are initially hired, but that the employees are oriented on a continous basis. This will help the employees be in sync with the changing conditions and requirements of the organization.

In terms of motivating the employees to learn, the supervisors must do needs assessment. This will help the supervisors identify what kind of training is required in accordance with the gaps identified in the needs assessment process. With the correct emphasis, the supervisors will make sure that employees are being trained for filling the gaps. Needs assessment should be followed by task analysis. Task analysis will help the supervisors in determining what the content of the training program should be, on the basis of the job duties and job tasks. Thus, needs assessment and task analysis should be performed by employers/supervisors before offering training to their employees.
