Cells in each of the three large squares of a hemocytometer were recount with cell counts of 208,180,199. Use these numbers to calculate the concentration of cells in the sample and total number of cells removed from the plate.

Total munber of cells has to be calculated from 4 large squares.

Since there are values for 3 squares, we can assume that the 4th square has no cells i.e 0

So, average number of cells = 208+180+199+0/4 = 146.75

Multiply 146.75 by 10000 = 1467500

The concentration of cells in the sample = 1467500 cells/ml

Total number of cells = 1467500 * volume of fluid from which sample was removed.
