We live in an age of immediate communication and employers are using new technology tactics to verify information on prospective or current employees. Critically review your own Facebook, LinkedIn, or other online social networking sites. What information is appropriate to share in these forums? What information should not be shared and why? Should employers or any other interested professional parties have the right to seek out these personal postings and make decisions about you based on what they see and read? Why or why not
Solution
With the introductionof social networking sites, world has become too small and communication has become very easy. However the problems associated with this are also high. When it comes to jobs there are some sites which are for getting connected with the employers. Some sites such as facebook must be used purely for personal purposes and some have professional touch. So the employers also must only use these professional sites to know about the employee because personal life and posts will have nothing to do with the job they offer to the employees. We must also be careful about the information we share in these sites. Some information which is too personal need not be shared because there are many problems with these sites and once we enter something in them , we are public. Hence we need to be very selective on what to post and what not to . Information which is very personal is better not to be shared.
