What are the advantages and disadvantages of a cross-functional and a cross-departmental team?

Yes, it is true. The resources scarcity is definitely effect the functioning of teams. Some of the departments work with less resources, where the others may deal with more than sufficient resources. For example the incentives and payments for marketing & sales team is high in any organization. But, the funds allocation & availability for R&D (Research & Development) is very low in some organizations. It is the management responsibility to manage all these with care, and they should take some actions to treat all these departments in equal way. Otherwise, the conflicts may expand and the work and team spirit, everything may be eradicated.

In case, if a conflict raised among the people or departments, the management will ask the people to come and meet them. And resolve the issues there itself, without any further problems.
