Solution
What is observational study?
Is a study where the researcher will collect the data based on what is seen and heard and will infer base on this data, the researcher cannot interfere with the subject or variables of the studies in any way.
How to conduct an Observation Study?
To conduct an observation study you need to develop a question /hypothesis, identify the variables and a population of interest and develop the appropriate study
Do you have any experiences to share?
Personally I don’t have experience about an observational study but for example:
You want to find out which beverage is more popular in high school: Milk or orange juice:
Hypothesis: Milk is more popular in high school
Variables: milk and orange juice
Population: all students of high school but they don’t know they are been observed.
We set up to vending machines, one only has Milk and the other one orange juice, the package and cost should be the same also the presentation (can)
We select a specific time period to collect data.
We draw our conclusion based on the data, for example we can say that 51% of the sales were orange juice and 49% were milk, proving our hypothesis wrong, orange juice is more popular than milk.
