I have been through plenty of training and have instructed much training trough my time in the military. Most training in the military is formal, but there is plenty of informal training such as “on the job” training. Our unit would have a mission statement which is approved by higher; that told secondary units and individuals our goals. From this a METL (Mission Essential Task List) was determined Threw the statement, METL and according to your job title. (QuinStreet, Inc, 2017) Task were determined and required to be taught, met and mastered. These individual or unit tasks would be joined with other tasks to accomplish a particular missions which ultimately meets the unit’s goal. I was a Tank Commander so I primarily focused on tank tasks to ensure my soldiers and I could shoot, move, and communicate our vehicles to be able to close with the enemy and eliminate. Each level of soldier had their tasks they were required to master. We typically held training every Thursday, it went by Sergeant’s Time Training, then changed to Warrior training. Our training had to be as realistic possible and follow a Task, Condition, and Standard format. Most classes are already laid out in our Field training manuals. So our instructors must have anything need to conduct the class and intimate knowledge of the
In the military after all training, actions, and missions we conduct AAR (after action reviews). The mission or task would be laid out. What took place would be discussed and then by step, key event, or by job position the task would be dissected and it would be determined if training was successful. We would always conclude with and at least three “improves” and three “sustains” by the individual, students, or unit.
I usually enjoyed training unless it was something that was simple and over taught, then obviously the training became boring.
I would not change the format. Our format was done so often that we could take anything and word it to apply a task, set of conditions, and an end standard. We became very good and giving classes. I always found that keeping things fun and interesting was key. Also keeping my students engaged by constant questions and giving past example helped. Also dominating the room and keeping sidebar to a minimum kept all focused and on tasks. Also showing that you know the material, and show passion was key! They will become as excited, and want to master the material as you do.

The informal training had motivated towards performing the job of an individual easily. The training had helped to review the individual performance towards their action before work performance, so that mistakes can be reduced and work can be done effectively. The training would be more interested when it is informal, as where every individual can share their views and opinion towards the work. The training help the individual to improve their work performance as where they always focus on the tasks to be completed.
