quantum physics electron diffraction experiment error calcul

quantum physics electron diffraction experiment. error calculation. the experment involed measuring the diffraction rings. I measued the inside of the ring radius then the outside then took the average for the actual measurment then for the error for each individual measurment I did (outer-inner) / 2. below you can see a table of this. I plotted them off a graph got the slope did some calculations and then got a result. just need some help on how to calclate the errors on this and what they would be. please! (yes I am well awae I should be able to calculate errors by now but I always get confused and I need this to be right)

if you want a bit more of a background on what I have done here is a question I posted yesterday https://www.chegg.com/homework-help/questions-and-answers/done-davisson-germer-experiment-wuantum-physics-class-pictures-data-graph-maths-value-inne-q12996687

Feel free to anser it better, wasnt really satisfied with the answer I got there.

thanks!

Solution

Hi, I have gone through your question, and also your previous calculations. I found some mistakes in your calculations. the slope value is wrong, because the formula is wrong. please check your calculations once

(slope= dy/dx). and you written R= 65mm, whether is it radius or any other?

If you want find the error, in each measurement you will get both inner and outer radiuses of the rings. by using these two you caluculated the radius right.

which instrument you are using to measure the radius of the rings? check once whether you added least count or not?

And I have doubt with your formula, i..e the formula which you used to calculate the d- spaceing.

If you provide more information, i wll try to help you. and the error due to radius of the rings is very less(i..e, in the order of 10-3 ). Don\'t worry about error.

my suggestion is please check your calculation and formula.

If you have more doubts related to questions, please feel free to ask me. I will try to help you.
