Transparency is a growing factor in health care. You have been hired to consult with a group of cardiologists who have just developed their first Web site. The practice is in a medium-sized community where there are three other cardiology practices. Traditionally, word-of-mouth was how we promoted healthcare--what do you think about testimonials on the site or third-party ratings. Do they do the same promotion?

I don’t think that testimonials on the site or third-party ratings do the same level of promotion like wod-of-mouth. This is true that testimonials on the site or third-party ratings do impact and promote the healthcare in some way or the other but they don’t have the same level of promotion as word-of-mouth. The reason being is that in healthcare promotion, the biggest factor which comes to play is “Trust” which comes more with word-of-mouth rather than testimonials on the site of third-party ratings.
