Imagine that you are the owner of a local retail store and your employees aren\'t following the guidelines you have instituted for proper workplace conduct. Under what circumstances would you fire an employee? How would you handle the actual act of letting the employee go?

Solution

As a retail store owner there will be more work because as a retail shop more number of customers will approach us and they will bargain the rates, it was also important to take money and return some amount and to keep the shop clean by displaying in order. There will be many tasks to perform daily in order to decrease the burden I have appointed some employees who will look after the work even in my absence also. But I found that employees are not listening to my guidelines and doing their own work. I had given some chances that they will rectify but they are repeating the same so I decided to warn them. I will handle this situation very consciously because if I fired on them next day onwards they will not come to work and there was many thing to do in my shop I cannot do the entire work. I told them it was not correct because “I was paying you wages without delay but you are not paying any attention to my words and doing your own work and it was your responsibility to follow my guidelines and do the work according to but no was doing properly”.

               This kind of situations will be seen mostly in many retail shops but handling them is an important criterion if I fired on them they definitely doesn’t come to work next day so in convincing manner they should be warned. At this kind of situations by warning them we lose our own consciousness so that it leads to the big conflicts. It would be mandatory to maintain more patience. For example sometimes we can find some grocery items will be missing from our shops at that position we should not make a debate with them we should ask them if they are not giving any response regarding the situation then we can ask them harshly. This kind of situation can be seen in every retail shop owner lives.
