3 students measure the mass of a product from the same chemical reaction. The groups recorded data of 8.83g, 8.84 g and 8.82 g. The known mass of the product from that reaction is 8.60g. The group values are___. Why? A small can is measured by Ail and Khalid. Their measurements are 10.2 g and 10.4 g respectively. If the true value is 10.5 g. find the true of the true error of Khalid measurement?

Solution

1) All the three values recorded by students are in the vicinity of each other with a difference of +/- 0.02

Hence the values are too precise, i.e. the values are only fluctuating at the second decimal places

The values are not that accurate since the true value is 8.60 and all the observatiions are above 8.8

Hence the values are having Precision but with no accuracy

Hence the correct answer must be Precision

ii)

Error in Ali Measurement = True Value - Measured Valued by Ali = 10.5 - 10.2 = 0.3g

Error in Khalid Measurement = True Value - Measured Valued by Khalid = 10.5 - 10.4 = 0.1g

Ratio of True errror of Ali\'s to Khalid = 0.3/0.1 = 3

3 students measure the mass of a product from the same chemical reaction. The groups recorded data of 8.83g, 8.84 g and 8.82 g. The known mass of the product f
