Decide which of the rational functions might have the given graph. A) R(x) = x - 2/(x + 2)^2(x - 3)^2 B) R(x) = 2 - x/(x + 2)(x - 3) C) R(x) = x + 2/(x - 2)(x + 3) D) R(x) = x - 2/(x + 2)(x - 3)

Solution

Here vertical asymptotes are x=-2 and x=3 . So we have (x+2)(x-3) in the denominator

ANd horizontal asymptote is y=0. It means degree of denominator is 1 greater than degree of numberator

So the correct option is D .
