Week Seven Topic: Bust a Myth Part I

This will be a two week Forum spanning three weeks, and you may team up with another student, if there is low enrollment then I will help you along. It is expected that you will working on this problem a little each week.

What I would like you to do in week one is to identify a myth, possibly from the Mythbuster site , describe the myth and your plans to dispel the myth utilizing math, preferably differential equations. Your first post should describe the myth, your assumptions about the conditions, and your plan of attack.

The whole point of this is to show that you do not need to build elaborate experiments to debunk a myth, and that you can use your brain and math.

This will be moderated, and then I will turn it over for comments.
