Biologists want to estimate the number of antelope in an enclosed wildlife reserve. They capture, tag and return 45 antelope to the reserve. Later they capture 42 antelope and discover 7 have tags. Use this information to make a proportion and estimate the total number of antelope in the wildlife reserve. Solve each equation. 9 = -3 p - 3 -2 = x/8 - 3 - x + 1 = - 3x - 15

Then according to question,proportion of tagged antelope is written as

= 45/T = 7/42

= T = 45 * 42/7

= T = 45 * 6 = 270

So,total number of antelope in wild reserve is = 270
