Prof M wants to redo the floors in her house with woodlookin
Prof M wants to redo the floors in her house with wood-looking tyle. She wants to compare the prices of two different types of tile. Lumber Noce Wood Plank Porcelain Tile is $25.09 for a box containing 12.61 sqft. Soho Mulberry Porcelain Tile is $29.28 for a box containing 15.50 sqft. Find the unit rotes for each box of tile to compare the prices. Make sure to include units in your answer. A clothing store has a plan to draw in business for the sale of the school uniforms they carry. They are going to sell \"Back to School Uniform Packets\". Each girls\' packet will contain 6 blouses and 4 pairs of pants. Define variables to represent the quantities and write an expression for each of the following: Define variables: The price of 6 blouses: The price of 4 pairs of pants: Write TWO DIFFERENT expressions representing the price of 5 packages containing 6 blouses and 4 pairs of pants: First expression: Second expression: If I buy 8 packets and 1 pair of shoes that costs $30, and spend $1086 what is the cost of one packet? You must define a variable, set up an equation, and solve the equation to find the cost of one packet. Show all of your work. If the cost of one blouse is $12, how much is one pair of pants?

  Solution
7)
Price of Lumber Nace Tile = $25.09/12.61 = $1.989 per square feet
Price of Soha Mulberry Tile = $29.28/15.50 = $1.889 per square feet
Hence the price of soha mulberry tile is cheaper than Lumber Nace Tile
8)
Let the number of blouses be x
Let the number of pants be y
Let the cost price of one blouse be Cx
Let the cost price of one pant will be Cy
ii) The price of 6 blouses : 6Cx
iii) The price of 4 pants: 4Cy
iv) Price of five packages = 30Cx + 20Cy
v) 8 * price of packet + 30 = 1086
price of packet = 1056/8 = 132$
vi) 6*12 + 4 * Cy = 132
4*Cy = 60
Cy = 15$
Hence the cost of pant is equal to 15$
