3 Write the equation of a line through the points 6 58 and 1

3. Write the equation of a line through the points (6, 58) and (10, 78), where x represent the number of units produced and y represents the cost of producing each unit. +58 + 58 Y:5x +52 Y-5x+52 Explain your slope in this scenario: Explain your y-intercept in this scenario. Use your model to determine much it cost to produce 25 units.

Solution

x1 = 6, y1 = 58

x2 = 10, y2 = 78

a) Slope = m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) = (78 - 58)/(10 - 6) = 20/4 = 5

b) Now equation will be

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - 58 = 5(x - 6)

y = 58 + 5x - 30

y = 5x + 28

y-intercept = 28

c) Now x = 25 then

y = 5*25 + 28 = 125 + 28 = 153

 3. Write the equation of a line through the points (6, 58) and (10, 78), where x represent the number of units produced and y represents the cost of producing
