Solution

There are many scenarios when it comes to discharging an employee; in my environment in particular a union employee is protected and one can face many road blocks. The private sector is different when it comes to discharging an employee who does not perform and can literally not show up for work for days!

Employees who are under the collective bargaining contract know their rights and how far they can go before every having to attend a hearing. This system is complex and there are many layers one must weave through.
