Study the following intercorrelation table. Two surveys measure consumer attitudes and two surveys measure marketers\' promotional spending. Knowing that Test 1 measures consumer attitudes, speculate which is the other consumer attitudes survey (2, 3, or 4) and which two surveys measure marketers\' promotional spending.

  Solution
The two consumer attitudes survey must have higher correlation than with the two marketers promotional spending surveys.
We are given that the survey1 is for consumers attitudes. So, looking in the row of survey 1, we get the maximum correlation with survey 3 which is 0.89. So, this must be the another survey of customers attitude.
And the other two surveys (i.e. 2 and 4) have less correlation with 1 but they are highly correlated among themselves as you can see in the second row last column. The correlation between 2 and 4 is 0.92 which is highest correlation in the table.
So, 1 and 3 are the consumer attitudes survey and 2 and 4 are the marketers promotional spending survey.
