Use the given graph of the function f to answer parts an Fin

Use the given graph of the function f to answer parts (a)-(n). Find f(0) and f(-6). Find f(6) and f(11). Is f(3) positive or negative? Is f(-4) positive or negative? For what values of x is f(x) =0? For what values of x is f(x) >0? What is the domain of f? What is the range of f? What are the x-intercepts? What is the y-intercept? How often does the line y = 1/2 intersect the graph? How often does the line x = 5 intersect the graph? For what values of x does f(x) = 3? For what values of x does f(x) = -2?

Solution

Looking at the graph find the values :

a) f(0) and f(-6)

at x= 0 ; f(0) = 3

x = -6 ; f(-6) = -3

b) f(6) and f(11)

x = 6 ; f(6) = 0

x = 11 ; f(11) = 1

c) f(3)

at x= 3; f(3) = 4 .So, f(3) is +ve

d) f(-4)

at x= -4 ; value of f(-4) is below the y axis in IIIrd quadrant

So, f(-4) <0 i.e. it is -ve

e) f(x) = 0

at x= -3, 6, 11 we find f(x) =0

 Use the given graph of the function f to answer parts (a)-(n). Find f(0) and f(-6). Find f(6) and f(11). Is f(3) positive or negative? Is f(-4) positive or neg
