The graph of y fx is transformed into the graph of gx 5 1

The graph of y = f(x) is transformed into the graph of g(x) - 5 = 1/2f(x - 4). The domain and range of each function is shown below. For the graph of g(x), the values of a,b,c, and d are, respectively, and (x,y) right arrow() then D: R:

Solution

given y=f(x)

and g(x)-5=(1/2)f(x-4)

=> g(x)=5+(1/2)f(x-4)

since f(x-4) means 4 unit translation in right side

since domain of f(x) is [-2,4]

therfore domain of g(x) is, [-2+4, 4+4]=[2,8]=[a,b]

and range of f(x) is [-2,8]

therfore range of g(x) is [5+(-2/2), 5+(8/2)]=[5-1, 5+4]=[4,9] =[c,d]
