We all know that our planet is warming. Global warming is one issue that the entire world is concerned about. Though the leaders talk about global warming it becomes impossible for the leaders to convince the locals to stop using air-conditioners or heaters which emit CFC (Chloro-Fluro-Carbon). We need to understand the word locals.

What do politicians and leaders mean by the term ‘locals’. Locals are none than individuals who play their part in this process. We are locals, we as public, and we as responsible residents of this awesome planet are responsible for this life threatening “Global Warming” which is nothing but a slow poison.

We know that using an air-conditioner might cool the internal room but definitely heat the external atmosphere. But what we need to think is “Have we ever stopped an air-conditioner just because it is heating up the atmosphere”. The answer to this question will definitely be “No”, as we are responsible individuals as far as our house is considered and we are lethargic individuals as far as our atmosphere is considered.

Take for instance our own two-wheeler or four-wheeler. “How many of us take an emission test every month and see that our emission levels from the vehicles are in control”. The percentage of individuals falling in this category will definitely be negligible.

Climate change has been a serious cause of concern in United Nations Panel. This panel on climate change works continuously on assessing the same and also forecasting about the melting ice-caps in the polar region. These ice-caps when melt will almost submerge most of the cities that are sidelined by the sea. Monuments and great buildings, as well as homes and lives will be under water, including New York City.

There is a saying which goes like “It’s never too late to start a good piece of work”. Now this will fit in out bill because these days electronic gadgets and equipments are almost unavoidable. We will definitely not be able to completely restrict using an air-conditioner or a four wheeler but what we can do is to take an oath today at this juncture that “We will plant one tree for each electronic gadget or a product that we buy that has high emission levels”. Planting trees will not only cleanse our atmosphere but also bring in more rains; ultimately the regular climate will be restored in the due course of time.

So we should start being responsible to this planet that have given its place for us to live, loiter and litter in this beautiful place.
