Find the point that satisfies both equations simultaneously

Find the point that satisfies both equations simultaneously: 3x + 2y = 14 7x - 4y = 15

Solution

We need to solve both the equations.

3x + 2y = 14

or, 2y = 14 - 3x

or, 4y = 28 - 6x

7x - 4y = 15

or, 7x - (28 - 6x) = 15

or, 13x = 43

or, x = 43/13

4y = 28 - 6x

or, y = 28 - 6 * 43 / 13 = 106/13

So, the point is (43/13 , 106/13)

 Find the point that satisfies both equations simultaneously: 3x + 2y = 14 7x - 4y = 15SolutionWe need to solve both the equations. 3x + 2y = 14 or, 2y = 14 - 3
