Theory E and Theory O, they are both equally legitimate and perspectives on the problem of organizational change.
These perspectives of theory E and theory O vary among individuals and organizations according to their beliefs and purposes.
Theory E aims at creation of economic value, particularily the shareholder value. Its approach is planned, programmatic change, based on formal structure and systems; driven from the top with the help of external consultants and financial incentives.
Theory O aims for development of the organization\'s human capability to implement strategy and learn from experience. It depends on a high commitment culture in which change is continuous & emergent. Change is enabled through participative process which relies less on consultants and incentives.
Since today’s market is highly competitive and challenging and we are struggling today to survive, we are more oriented towards creation of value and growth of economy.we are least focused for socital duties and responsibilities. In this context theory E is the most optimal strategy/theory to be followed.
