The generalists are the persons who do not specializes in a specific field, whereas the specialists focuses in one specific department and are masters of their field. The industrial model puts in mass of knowledge of different spheres. Industrial model applied to education disregards human nature, stifles imagination and creativity, encourages a preoccupation with minimum standards rather than maximum performance, and wastes the potential inherent in human variability. The views expressed by me surely favors the value placed on intellectual capital. Intellectual capital which is inherent in a human being must be developed and sustained. The capital should be developed in their specific fields so that we get specialists in each and every field and the approach to think creatively is sustained. Rather than following a pre-defined path they should be allowed and motivated to choose and establish their own path.
