Length of kitchen=16\'2\"=16+2/12\'=97/6\'
Width of kitchen=14\'4\"=14+4/12\'=43/3\'
Area of the kitchen= length * width =97/6 *43/3 =4171/18 square feet
we know that 1 yard = 3 feet
then 1 square yard = 3^2 square feet= 9 square feet
given that cost of 1 square yard or 9 square feet =23.40
then cost of 1 square feet = 23.40/9
then cost of Dinete area = (23.40/9)*(4171/18) =602.48
Hence required cost is $602.48
