Find the inverse equation y x3 2SolutionWe have y x3 2 or o

Find the inverse equation. y= x+3 -2

Solution

We have y = (x+3) -2 or, on adding 2 to both the sides, (x+3) = y +2 . Now, on squaring both the sides, we get (x+3) = (y+2)2 or, x = (y+2)2 -3.

Note:If we are interested in finding the inverse function , then , on interchanging x and y, we get y = (x+2)2 -3. This is the inverse of the given function.
