As per Pythagoras theorem, in a right angled triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. Therefore, c² = a² +b² = 8² + 10² = 64+100 = 164. Hence c = 164 = 12.806 ( on rounding off to the nearest thousandth).
