Assume a fixed load of 100Ohm is place across the function generation. What fraction of the unloaded generation voltage will appear across the load?
Solution
The 100 ohm resistance of the function generator will add in parallel to the load in the circuit. It will basically be considered as a series connection to the circuit and the voltage appearing on the actual resistance will effect because of the 100 ohm resistance.
Let us suppose we have 10 V of supply and the actual resitance of the load is 100 ohms also.
so the current in the circuit will be 10V/(100+100) ohm.
