Solution
How are you going to handle the situation if your supervisor reminds you of your father or mother? and you do not get along with your parents?
I would handle the situation by revising my expectations. When the supervisor reminds me of my mother or father, then rather than expecting care from the supervisor, I would reset the expectations to be more independent and think about only work.
How are you going to create a good working relationship with a supervisor who is fifteen years younger than you are?
I would create a solid relationship with the younger boss so that the experience is pleasant and mutually beneficial. By doing this, I would also feel younger and be more energetic to do the work.
How would you develop a good working relationship if you and your supervisor are the same age?
1. Learn from your supervisor – Though the supervisor is of the same age, there might be certain skills that you can learn from your supervisor.
2. Outing together- You can build strong relationship by going out together.
3. Appreciate feedback- When your supervisor provides a feedback to you, appreciate it so that the relationship does not falter.
4. Avoid formalities- Just address your boss with his/her name and not sir. This creates a good relationship between you and your boss.
How would you develop a good working relationship if your supervisor reminds you of your younger sister, and you think your sister is a brat?
Ignore the age of your supervisor and just focus on your performance in the job. Though this is a hard fact to digest, just take a deep breath and exhale and let the thought that your supervisor is younger to you go. Do not relate your supervisor and your younger sister who is a brat. Your supervisor is not your family member and would be focused only on your work. So just do your work and rest of the things will go in harmony.
