Solve the linear system of equations 5x 6y 30 10x 12y 11

Solve the linear system of equations. 5x - 6y = 30 10x - 12y = 11 a. Unique solution: (-2, -1) b. Unique solution: (2, -1) c. Unique solution: (2, 1) d. Infinitely many solutions; (t, 4t + 7) e. No solution

Solution

Dear Student

Thank you for using Chegg !!

5x - 6y = 30                      .....................................(1)

10x - 12y = 11                  .....................................(2)

Dividing equation (2) by 2 we get

5x - 6y = 11/2 .....................................................(3)

From equation (1) and (3) it is clear that although the coefficients for x and y are same for 2 equations the result is not the same.

Hence there shall not be any solution to given set of equation

NO SOLUTION
