We talked a lot about reuse over the term. Describe the policies and processes you would put in place to govern reuse in the software development process. Be sure to include reuse of software your company has written, commercial software, and open source software. Do your policies and processes change if you are in a Agile environment? Why or why not?

Solution

Software development process is a large cycle and if we need to make this process effective and cost saving then we need to build solution which reuse the exitsing developed functionality, logic, system. This makes the integration of new developed program or function or part easy with the existing as the old one has been reused. We need to put strict guidelines in place to solution architects to make sure they are developing solution with reusability and once the solution is developed and in between (iterations) reviews needs to be in place to cross check at various stages and if doesnot meet the said process then don\'t allow it further.The responsibility lies with many members solution designer, system designer, developer, architects and lastly the manager that handles the project to take time to time review and feedback that everything falls within specified guidelines.
