A fixed mass of saturated water vapor at 1 MPa is isothermally cooled until it is a saturated liquid.
Calculate the amount of heat rejected in the process, in kJ/kg.
Solution
From steam tables,
At P= 1Mpa,
hfg= specific enthalpy= 2013.6 kJ/kg
hfg itself gives the heat rejected while cooling from saturated vapour to saturated water.
