Solution

Let number of banana chocolate pies =x and number of pecan pies =y

x+y=36

x=36-y

6.99x +10.99y=331.64

6.99(36-y)+10.99y=331.64

y=20

x=36-y=36-20=16

Therefore number of banana chocolate pies =16 and number of pecan pies =20 .
