Some basic elements of strategic management are environmental scanning. strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and evaluation/control. Feel free to share some modes of strategic decision-making proposed by Mintzberg.

Henry Mintzberg has mainly three approaches ir the modes od strategic decision making------------

1. Entrepreneurial mode---------In the entrepreneurial mode they mainly focus on the opportunites and problems as a secondary. the dominant goal of this mode is the growth of the corporation. strategy is guided by the founder vision and decisions made by him.

2. Adaptive mode--------this decision mode is defined as a reactive solution to the existing problems rather than proactive search for the new opportunities. this strategy is mainly formulated and it is developed to move the corporation forward incrementally.

3. Planning mode------The planning mode strategies include both proactive search for new opportunities and the reactive solution to existing problems. It mainly involves systematic gathering of the various information for the situation analysis, the generation of feasible alternative strategy, and selection of the most appropriate strategy.
