The length of a rectangle is 3 times the width. if the perimeter of the rectangle is 128 in, find its area?

Solution

Let the width be x in

So, length = 3x in

Perimeter = 2 * (x + 3x)

Or, 128 = 8x

Or, x = 16 in

Width = 16 in

Length = 3 * 16 = 48 in

Area = 16 * 48 = 768 in2

 The length of a rectangle is 3 times the width. if the perimeter of the rectangle is 128 in, find its area? The length of a rectangle is 3 times the width. if
