System Analyst is a designation in Information Technology. System analyst role is to analyze, design and implement IT solutions. His main role is to analyse the existing system and provide solutions to improve the sytem or design a new system. He provides solutions to business problems by using design techniques and estimates the costs for the provided solution. He works closely with architects and developers to implement the solution. He also reviews and makes improvements in the solution. He is also responsible to design integration between the systems and document those.

There are two career paths for System analyst

1) In technical profile: Systems Analyst ----> Senior Systems Analyst -----> Systems Analyst Specialist

2) In Manager profile: Systems Analyst -----> Senior Systems Analyst -----> Supervisor ----> Manager ----> Senior Manager
