Solve by substitution method y x2 x 1 3x y 4Solutiony

Solve by substitution method. {y = x^2 - x - 1 3x - y = 4

Solution

y = x^2 -x -1 ---(1)

3x - y =4

y = 3x -4 ----(2)

suubstitute y from equation(2) in equation (1)

x^2 -x -1 = 3x -4

x^2 -4x +3 =0

x^2 -3x -x +3 =0

x(x-3) -1(x-3) =0

(X-1)(x-3) =0

x = 1 , 3

y =3x -4 = -1 , 5

 Solve by substitution method. {y = x^2 - x - 1 3x - y = 4Solutiony = x^2 -x -1 ---(1) 3x - y =4 y = 3x -4 ----(2) suubstitute y from equation(2) in equation (1
