The current trend in an economic environment such as rise in the income level, rise in inflation rate or rising unemployment has a drastic affect the demand for Starbucks products. Some of the changes in economic environment are as follows:

Rise in the level of consumer awareness.

Increase in the competition.

Economic crises

Increase in inflation rate.

Increase in unemployment rate.

These factors further put a pressure on the company to lower its price. Company faced a downward slope in its demand curves.

First line managers are the individuals who are in direct contact with customers. Therefore, the first line manager has to handle the customer response and solve their query as well as they have a duty to delight their customers. With the increase in these factors, the responsibilities and stress of first line manager increased.

These factors forced Middle level manager and top level manager to redesign their product according to the changing demand and economic factors.
