The positions of two blocks at successive 0.20 -s time intervals are represented by the numbered squares in the figure below. The blocks are moving towards the right. Do the speed? Yes, at some time during the intervasl 3 to 4. Yes, at instant 5. No. Yes, at instant 2. Yes, at instants 2 and 5.

Solution

The top block is accelarating, where as the bottom block has a constant speed.

The speed of the top block is initially smaller than the botto block, between 2 and 3 its smaller, and between 4 & 5 its greater than the speed of the bottom block

so somewhere between 3 & 4 speed of the tom box become smaller to higher than the speed of the bottom box.

1st option is the correct answer.
