C Enzyme Activity affected by pH temperature concentration o

C. Enzyme Activity affected by: pH, temperature, concentration of enzyme & substrate (why? Hint: protein structure and function are related - what happens to the structure of a protein if it is denatured by acid or heat?) D. Enzyme Inhibition & Regulation

Solution

With the increase in temperature rate of reaction also increases . But at very high temperatures enzymesget denatures disrupting there activity. Enzymes are highly specific and shows maximum function at optimum conditions only

pH

Changes in pH alters an enzyme’s shape. Enzymes also require at optimum pH to show maximum activity . Too harsh consitions denatures the enzyme.

Substrate Concentration

Enzyme Concentration
