What steps would you propose to engage both clinicians and QI staff in enhanced QI activities?

Clinicians and QI staff should be engaged in enhanced QI activities.This should be done in the below mentioned steps :

Step1 : Develop a detailed vision for enhancing QI activities : Developing a vision gives a long term direction to both health care department and QI staff about what to pursue in the long term. It sets the direction and base for what is to be achieved and where to head.

Step 2 : Identify the resources required for achieving the vision : The monetary and non monetary resources are identified which would be required to achieve the vision.

Step 3 : Set the objectives and roles and responsibilities for each resource : The QI staff and clinicians required to achieve the vision,should be given a detailed list of objectives and roles and responsibilities to be performed to work for.

Step 4: Set the Budget : The budget is ultimately being set to achieve the entire objectives.

Step 5 : Implement the process : Detailed chart of roles and responsibilities performed by each Clinincians and QI staff is handed over to them individually and asking them to implement the same.

Step 6: Control and Follow up : The implementation phase is being monitored strictly and if any clinician or QI staff deviating from their roles and responsibilities should be counseled and instructed.
