Training refers to the skill enhancement program that is used to assist employee in performing their present job related activities. Training is used as a bridge program between what an employee knows and what is expected from him in his job. The training differs from the education as education is used to spread the awareness, but it may not be used to enhance the skills up to the level that can help in doing jobs. For example, the employees are educated upon the guidelines and latest updates, followed by the organization. Further, the development program is used to ready the next level of managers and leaders to take up more responsibility and or get promotion to the higher level of management. It is different to the training program as a training program fulfills today’s organizational needs, but development program is the part of future needs of the organization. Training and development as well as the education are all important activities under the HR function, but are meant for the different purposes.
