I want mix or dilute a different concentratins from absolut ethanol in or with cell culture media in 37 temprature degree, because of this I want to know what is the evaporation rate in this condition ? to avoid the evaporation, also, to keep the concentration that I prepared with cell culture is same

Solution

The evaporation rate of ethanol from the cell culture media of a openly incubated cells at 37^oC is 90% after 24 hours of addition into the media.

This can be reduced to some extent by using closed polystyrene boxes which reduces the evaporation to 50% of original after 24 hours.
